Travelers from around the world have spoken, and they’re calling Filipino hotels among the world’s best: six local establishments have been awarded 2021 Travelers’ Choice Awards from TripAdvisor.com.

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel planning platform, where travelers can leave reviews for the establishments, services, and activities they visit. A Travelers’ Choice Award is earned by accommodations that consistently earn top reviews on the site, and ranked within the top 10 percent of its worldwide listings. Awards are also given to attractions, restaurants, airlines, and other tourism sites and services.

“Despite the difficulties, our local hotels remained true to their mission of providing exemplary Filipino hospitality,” said Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat. “This global recognition is a testament to the success of the steps we are taking to lessen the long-term impact of the pandemic on the hospitality industry and drive its recovery.”
